All you need to ride. Now tap your digital wallet, credit or debit card to ride the bus or train.

Passengers paying regular fare* can use a contactless credit or debit card to tap and pay on Beeline, Metro, and other transit agencies in Los Angeles County.

How it Works

Passengers can choose the type of contactless card to pay with:contactless payment symbol

  • Plastic credit/debit card with contactless symbol as seen on the right.
    • All major credit/debit cards are accepted: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB, and Union Pay.
  • Digital credit/debit card in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet on smartphone or smartwatch.

Passengers can tap their card at a TAP validator on the bus like a regular TAP card, and the correct fare will be charged. Wait for the green screen to appear or the “beep” and “GO” message to board with valid fare.

Benefits

Paying with a contactless credit/debit card offers the same benefits as a regular TAP card, including transfers on Beeline and inter-agency transfers.

Passengers can also pay for themselves and up to 4 additional passengers with a credit/debit card.

  • Tap the credit/debit card on the validator for each passenger in the group.
  • All taps for groups traveling together must happen within 2 minutes.
  • All passengers in the group can use that same credit/debit card (in the same payment form) to transfer on Beeline or between agencies.
